Seed
Please call us at 530-662-6847 to request pricing and availability. Once you know what you want, you can call or email us to request a formal quote or to place your order. Once you place the order, we will take your billing and shipping information (if you pay with a credit card we will take that number over the phone) and we will also schedule a day for you to pick up or ship. Then we will prepare the paperwork for the order and give it to our staff to fill.

Seed Mixing and Treatment
We do not charge a mixing fee for custom mixes. For more information on seed mixes, go to the Seed page. We also offer seed treatment services including fungicide and mycorrhizae. For more information, see our Services page.

Shipping Seed
We ship smaller orders of seed via UPS. UPS orders shipped to locations in Northern California usually arrive the next day. Generally once an order is more than 200 pounds, we will ship it freight on a pallet unless you request otherwise.

Plugs
We have an offsite transplant facility located near Lodi that starts all of our plugs. Once they are ready to sell, some plugs stay at the transplant facility and some come to our Winters location. Always call us at 530-662-6847 to place your order before coming to the farm in Winters, that way we can be sure to have all of the plugs on site and set aside for you. Pick up at the Lodi facility can also be arranged.

If you need a large quantity of plugs, remember that on average they take 12-16 weeks to grow out. That means for a fall project, plugs should ordered in late summer. For more information about our plug transplants, please go to the Nursery page.


Plug Tray Deposit
We like to reuse our plug transplant trays, so we charge a $5 tray deposit for each tray you take with your order. If you return the trays, we will refund you the deposit or you can take a credit to apply towards your next order.

Shipping Plugs
We can ship plugs via UPS. In addition to the per-box UPS charge, there is a handling charge because we have to remove the plugs from the trays and place them in plastic bags for safe shipment. Plugs ship Monday through Thursday. We do not ship plugs on Fridays because they could sit in a warehouse over the weekend and dry out.

Plug Deliveries
We can deliver plugs. This is only recommended for large orders. Please call us at 530-662-6847 for pricing information.

Straw
Call us at 530-662-6847 to place your order before coming out to pick up. Let us know when you will be here so we can have someone available to help you load.

Straw Deliveries
We do not deliver straw. We may be able to assist you in finding someone to deliver for you, so call us at 530-662-6847 for more information on this request. Large straw orders are over 20-25 tons and are delivered by large truck and trailer which can usually carry 450 bales. These large orders require hiring a squeeze to load the bales. Straw retrievers are sometimes available and they carry between 72 and 80 bales for delivery. Other smaller trucks and trailers can be used for smaller orders. We can help with loading these small orders.
